After years of being on the Houston Dart Association's Board of Directors and creating the database they use, and working with league scheduling issues; I joined the Alief Shuffleboard League and proceeded to write a scheduling package in MS Access.

The way the HDA scheduled leagues is they used these matrix sheets to determine scheduling conflicts and crosses. The drawback on this is the number of teams in a season was predefined by the matrix size. But the manual system worked, even if it was an all day event.

When I joined the Alief Shuffleboard league, I didn't want to use a manual method the HDA used, and so 6 years ago I wrote a simple scheduler in MS-Access and generated the league schedules. This worked better and was easier than the HDA method. It detected errors in scheduling automatically such as (Overloading, too many weeks at home or away, cross division overloading).

I have converted and enhanced the software to run on the WEB, and am now offering it at a very low price.

The software attempts to create a schedule that is a Home-Away-Home-Away format. Anyone who has ever tried this knows that doing that is nearly impossible, especially when you have 10 to 20 teams in a given season. So the software attempts to guarantee the no team is home or away more than two weeks in a row. The software can handle this in most cases, there are times when overloading conflicts make it necessary to have 3 weeks in a row at home or away. It is very rare for this to occur.

When the scheduling software is ran, a schedule is created that you can display or print. There are several additional reports created that shows a scheduling matrix for each team, and an error report to show any detected scheduling conflicts.
